Rotating photos that have already uploaded

Modified on Sat, 26 Apr at 4:25 PM

dotphoto identifies and stores photos that have been uploaded, which is efficient but problematic if you have already uploaded an incorrectly rotated photo. Simply changing the rotational setting and re-uploading the photo will cause the original image to display with the original rotation.

Here is a workaround. If you have difficulty with this, please contact dotphoto, and customer service will run this process for you.  Download and install the free Irfanview program here:  https://www.irfanview.com/

In Irfanview:

A. From the File menu, choose Batch Conversion / Rename

B.  Under Work as:  choose Batch conversion

In the Batch Conversion screen:

1. Setup the Output folder for your correctly rotated files

2. Tap the Advanced button

3. Set the size of the new file to 101%

4. Choose Rotate right or Rotate left

5. Tap OK.

Choose your files to batch convert:

1. Select your files

2. Tap the Add button

3. Tap the Start Batch button

Your files will be processed and added to your Output file folder. You can now upload these corrected and slightly larger files to dotphoto.
