dotphoto automatically rotates all images that have an orientation bit -- that is, the photo contains a "flag" that notes the orientation of the camera (vertical or horizontal) at the time the photo was taken.
Most cell phones automatically provide this information, but older cell phones or more advanced cameras may require you to select the orientation feature. Also, sensors are not perfect and will sometimes get the orientation wrong.
You can check the orientation on your photos by uploading an image to:
Tap the EXIF tab and look at the orientation switch.
